Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

The following information is relevant for parents of any student that plans to participate in a sport or activity governed by the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA). Parents of those students should familiarize themselves with the information below.

The MSHSAA has amended their Constitution and By-Laws with regards to sports physicals.  In the past, a physical dated on or after February 1 was good for the remainder of that school year plus the following school year. The new policy from MSHSAA makes physical examinations good for 760 days from the date of the examination. If your child has a physical on file with the school, it is good for two years from the date the physical was taken. Example – if the physical was taken on August 2, 2018 it will be good until August 1, 2020.

Chloe Christensen, a BCMS 8th grader, has been selected as Missouri’s top Middle Level youth volunteer in the 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program. As a state honoree, Chloe will receive a $1,000 award, an engraved silver medallion, and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., for a series of national recognition events in May.
